Macha (pronounced Mah-Kuh) is a director and producer who turns complex ideas into clear, emotionally resonant stories. She works across commercial, branded, and documentary projects, bringing sharp creative development, decisive on-set leadership, and a collaborative production-minded approach. Her clients include Western Union, Grove Co., the Brooklyn Museum, AT&T, Hasbro and Nutella.

Based in NYC and the Bay Area, available for projects nationwide.

Hi. I like making stuff. I'm pretty open to whatever type of video project, as long as it's interesting, and maybe a little challenging. Here are 10 random facts about me.

  1. Yes, I genuinely like spreadsheets.
  2. I like to cook and have a fledgling food content instagram @macha.cooks.
  3. If I haven't told you I'm from Oakland, I will like 3 times at some point today. Yes, I have full bicoastal capabilities (for the Bay Area and New York, obviously).
  4. I have directed several short films, and have found I love Black Mirror style Sci-Fi — I have a past career in microbiology and genetics.
  5. Coffee & Cigarettes (Jim Jarmusch) taught me that filmmaking can be whatever you want it to be… I’m also a professor of film studies.
  6. I can produce the heck out of your project by staying in my lane, or heavily collaborating. Your call.
  7. I'm passionate about and an advocate for food allergy awareness, which translates to - I take crew food and crafty VERY seriously.
  8. I know a lot of really talented people — both union and non-union — and how to find them.
  9. I love beagles and chihuahuas. Especially cheagles. RIP Cesar.
  10. Dream job: exploring food, culture, art, environment, and their intersections with wealth and power (or: producer dream — regular hours and regular pay, lol).

Selected Projects in Development

Winds of Change
An in-development conservation documentary short about Golden Eagles and wind farms. The film explores the intersection of green energy, conservation, California, and the people fighting on both sides of the green movement.

Soft Authoritarianism and Other Bedtime Stories
An interdisciplinary digital storytelling project combining speculative fiction, code, and visual narrative exploring power, systems, futuring, and everyday life.
